Our client is an established clean energy developer, owner, and operator delivering renewable energy projects for large energy users across the U.S. As the company grows its presence in the data center market, they’re looking for a commercial leader who can build relationships with Data Center Developers, Hyperscalers, and other key market participants to develop long-term energy offtake partnerships.

The Senior Director of Data Center Offtake will lead commercial relationships with hyperscalers, data center operators, aggregators, and other large power users.

This is a senior business development and origination role with ownership of the full deal process, from opening new relationships through negotiating and signing commercial agreements.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and grow relationships with hyperscalers, data center operators, aggregators, and other large energy users.
  • Lead opportunities from initial conversations through negotiation and signed commercial agreements.
  • Originate and negotiate MOUs, LOIs, PPAs, exclusivity agreements, and other binding offtake arrangements.
  • Work with commercial, legal, regulatory, and policy teams to structure transactions that meet customer and business requirements.
  • Identify the customers and opportunities with the strongest commercial potential and help prioritize where the company invests its time.
  • Coordinate with customer teams on community engagement and work with utilities, government entities, and local stakeholders as needed.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences and stay close to changes in customer needs, pricing, programs, and the competitive landscape.
  • Maintain a clear view of customer relationships, active opportunities, deal stages, and the broader pipeline.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Bachelor’s degree, with relevant education or experience in business, economics, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of business development or origination experience involving distributed solar, energy storage, data centers, or similar infrastructure transactions.
  • A track record of closing binding power supply and/or power demand transactions representing significant megawatt volumes.
  • Strong knowledge of the data center market and an established network of industry relationships.
  • A solid understanding of what makes a data center power supply transaction commercially viable.
  • The ability to independently build relationships, lead complex negotiations, and move opportunities through signed agreements.

Salary Range: $170,000–$220,000
