The Senior Asset Manager will be responsible for maximizing the performance and reliability of utility-scale solar and energy storage assets. This hands-on position combines technical troubleshooting, contractor oversight, and operational management to ensure projects perform as expected.
What You’ll Do
- Take responsibility for the operational health and daily performance of solar PV, BESS, and hybrid generation assets.
- Evaluate production trends and equipment availability to uncover performance shortfalls and recommend improvements.
- Leverage SCADA data and plant monitoring platforms to diagnose equipment issues and coordinate effective solutions.
- Hold external O&M partners accountable for maintenance schedules, contractual commitments, and performance standards.
- Manage equipment warranty claims and work with module, inverter, and battery manufacturers to resolve technical issues.
- Establish standardized practices that promote consistent operations and performance across multiple facilities.
- Share operating insights with development, engineering, and construction teams to improve future projects.
- Prepare plant performance information to support portfolio evaluations and asset transaction activities.
- Recommend measures to strengthen system reliability, improve equipment output, and streamline plant operations.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- 5+ years of hands-on experience overseeing operations or asset performance for solar PV and/or battery energy storage facilities.
- Experience managing operating utility-scale solar, battery storage, or hybrid generation assets.
- Strong technical knowledge of power generation equipment, maintenance practices, and operational troubleshooting.
- Ability to interpret SCADA information, plant monitoring data, and production trends to identify performance issues.
- Experience directing outsourced O&M teams, working with equipment suppliers, and managing warranty claims.
- Ability to balance operational priorities across multiple assets while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- A self-motivated approach and the ability to work independently within a small team.
Salary Range: $150k – $180k Based on Experience
