Civil Project Manager, Utility Solar Construction

Our client is a leading Civil Construction contractor working on some of the latest Solar and Energy Storage projects in the country. They act as a full EPC on smaller projects, and as a Civil Subcontractor on much larger projects with a scope of work including grading, roadwork, site clearing, trenching, driving piles and in some cases installing racking and modules.
They are seeking a Civil Project Manager, Utility Solar Construction to oversee multiple upcoming projects in the greater Reno area. This person will lead the execution of assigned projects, overseeing scheduling, budgeting, documentation, and team coordination. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role reporting directly to the General Manager, ideal for an organized, proactive professional with strong construction management experience and excellent client-facing skills.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee the full project lifecycle, ensuring quality, profitability, and timely delivery.
- Lead Project Superintendents and subcontractors to execute project scopes within budget and schedule.
- Manage all project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and billing approvals.
- Conduct regular progress meetings, pre-construction planning sessions, and punch-list job walks.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal teams, ensuring excellent communication and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor project costs and team performance, providing reporting and recommendations to senior leadership.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager or Superintendent in civil construction – renewable energy experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction operations, plans, and estimating practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to translate client needs into actionable tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management documentation.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel 20–35% of the time
- Organized, proactive, and able to lead multiple projects simultaneously.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range: $110,000 – $140,000 salary, based on experience
