Technical Sales Engineer – PV Hardware & Fastening Systems

Our client is a global leader in Balance of System components used in utility-scale solar applications.  With several key mounting, grounding, and wire management product lines, they are changing the way utility-scale solar projects are installed while reducing O&M costs.  

The Technical Sales Engineer is a key driver of Sales and Business Development activities, driving customer engagements, closing transactions, and driving market adoption.  You will act as the key point of contact for strategic customers. This role is responsible for guiding clients through technical problem-solving, developing customized solutions, and driving revenue growth through consultative selling. The position requires close coordination with internal engineering, product, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution from concept through delivery.

What You’ll Do 

  • Analyze target markets to identify key stakeholders, decision-makers, and competitive dynamics across priority sectors
  • Develop and execute account strategies aligned with broader commercial objectives and revenue targets
  • Lead the full sales lifecycle, from opportunity identification through proposal development, negotiation, and deal closure
  • Translate complex technical requirements into clear, actionable solutions for both customers and internal teams
  • Deliver high-impact technical presentations and tailored proposals to secure stakeholder engagement and buy-in
  • Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams, including engineering, product management, and operations, to ensure alignment on project scope and timelines
  • Support new product development efforts by communicating customer requirements and market insights to internal stakeholders
  • Provide technical guidance during product integration, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis when needed
  • Build and maintain long-term customer relationships by anticipating evolving needs and delivering value-driven solutions
  • Prepare technical documentation and maintain accurate records of customer interactions, project progress, and sales activities

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical sales, product development, or a similar customer-facing engineering role
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex sales cycles and closing technical solutions-based deals
  • Experience working directly with customers to understand requirements and deliver customized engineering solutions
  • Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proficiency with CRM or ERP systems such as Salesforce or SAP

Salary Range: $130-150k + Bonus
