Our client is an established renewable energy developer focused on advancing utility-scale solar and energy storage projects across key U.S. power markets. The Development Associate will play a key role in advancing utility-scale renewable energy projects through the development lifecycle. Working closely with cross-functional teams, consultants, and external stakeholders, this individual will support site control, permitting, interconnection, engineering coordination, and project execution while helping manage project schedules, budgets, and overall development strategy.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate development activities, including site control, permitting, electrical interconnection, and engineering efforts.
- Manage project information and facilitate communication between internal teams and external consultants, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Maintain project assumptions, schedules, and development inputs while coordinating updates across functional groups.
- Track project progress, evaluate development risks and opportunities, and support project economics throughout the development process.
- Lead or assist with due diligence activities associated with project acquisitions.
- Support the negotiation and administration of land agreements, including lease and purchase options.
- Coordinate engineering activities required for permitting and utility interconnection.
- Partner with engineering teams throughout project design and EPC planning.
- Monitor key development milestones, manage project budgets, and ensure timely execution of critical tasks.
- Coordinate subject matter experts across real estate, permitting, engineering, and interconnection disciplines to advance project development.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 3-5 years of experience in renewable energy or the broader energy industry.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively prioritize competing responsibilities.
Salary Range: $130-150K DOE
