BESS Business Development Specialist

Our client is a global leader in utility-scale energy storage, delivering reliable, high-performance BESS solutions that support the clean energy transition. As part of a rapidly growing international energy business, the company is expanding quickly to meet rising demand across utility, commercial & industrial, and grid-scale projects throughout the Americas.
The Business Development Associate will support the growth of the company’s Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) business by helping drive early-stage customer engagement, opportunity development, and commercial coordination. This role is directly focused on expanding the company’s presence in the energy storage market by identifying new opportunities and supporting their progression through the early commercial pipeline.
This position is designed for an early-career professional looking to build experience across the full BESS value chain. The role works at the intersection of market activity and internal execution, supporting both external customer engagement and cross-functional coordination to ensure opportunities are effectively developed and transitioned to senior commercial team members.
What You’ll Do
- Identify and reach out to potential customers and partners across the energy storage ecosystem, including developers, utilities, and EPC firms
- Support early-stage conversations to understand project scope, timelines, and commercial considerations
- Assist in screening and qualifying new opportunities before transitioning them to account managers
- Coordinate with internal teams such as engineering, supply chain, product, and commercial to support opportunity development
- Help prepare internal summaries and documentation for new business opportunities
- Support onboarding activities for new customers, including NDAs and initial due diligence
- Maintain accurate records of outreach, meetings, and opportunity status within CRM systems
- Track and compile market insights related to pricing, policy, supply chain trends, and industry developments
- Assist with planning and logistics for conferences, customer meetings, and industry events
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as engineering, business, or energy-related studies
- 3–5 years of experience in business development support, sales coordination, project coordination, or market analysis
- Demonstrated ability to stay organized while managing multiple workstreams and deadlines
- Ability to work across multiple teams and manage competing priorities
- Experience using CRM tools such as Salesforce
Salary Range – $70,000 – $90,000 plus bonus
