The Technical Support Engineer – Energy Storage plays a key role in supporting installed energy storage assets by resolving technical issues, analyzing system behavior, and ensuring consistent performance in the field. This position blends engineering analysis with customer interaction, requiring both technical depth and the ability to communicate clearly across a range of stakeholders. The role includes a mix of remote diagnostics and on-site support. 

What You’ll Do

  • Respond to operational issues across deployed energy storage systems, assessing system behavior and determining appropriate next steps
  • Evaluate system performance using available data sources to identify patterns, anomalies, and potential failure points
  • Provide direction to field personnel and service partners during troubleshooting and repair activities
  • Coordinate with internal engineering teams when issues require deeper technical review or escalation
  • Support customers by explaining system conditions, findings, and recommended actions in a clear and practical manner
  • Track service activity from intake through resolution, ensuring accuracy and consistency in documentation
  • Contribute to internal knowledge resources by capturing recurring issues and lessons learned
  • Assist in improving service workflows and response approaches based on field experience
  • Participate in customer and project discussions where technical input is required

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as electrical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Willingness to travel up to 40%
  • 3-8 years of experience working with electrical systems, energy storage, or industrial equipment in a service or support capacity
  • Practical knowledge of how complex systems operate, including the ability to interpret performance data and identify issues
  • Experience working in environments that require coordination between technical teams and external stakeholders
  • Familiarity with safety practices associated with high-voltage equipment
  • Ability to manage multiple active issues or assignments simultaneously
  • Clear communication skills, particularly when explaining technical topics to non-engineering audiences

Salary Range – $110,000 – $140,000 plus bonus
