Sales Manager – Renewable Energy

Our client is a global Engineering Consulting and technical advisory firm providing Independent Engineering and Owners Engineering services for Utility Scale Solar and Energy Storage projects. They integrate engineering expertise, certification, and advisory services to support investors, developers, and asset owners in managing risk and optimizing outcomes across renewable energy portfolios. Their work has enabled significant capital deployment into solar and energy storage projects worldwide.
The Sales Manager will contribute to expanding the company’s advisory services within the renewable energy market, with a focus on risk assessment related to weather and catastrophic events. This role involves engaging directly with insurance, finance, and asset management stakeholders to support the evaluation of risk exposure and inform investment decisions. The position requires a consultative sales approach and the ability to connect technical insights to commercial outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Generate new business opportunities by engaging organizations involved in underwriting, financing, and managing renewable energy assets (Financiers, insurance providers and asset owners)
- Develop working relationships with stakeholders across insurance, investment, and asset management functions to support ongoing business development efforts
- Advance opportunities through a consultative sales process, from early-stage discussions through commercial agreement
- Position advisory capabilities by connecting technical analysis to financial exposure, asset performance, and portfolio risk considerations
- Partner with internal subject matter experts to shape solutions that align with client objectives and project requirements
- Contribute to client deliverables and supporting materials that communicate scope, approach, and value
- Maintain visibility in the market through participation in industry events and direct client interactions
- Share insights from client conversations and market activity to support internal alignment and service evolution
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, finance, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of commercial or sales experience within renewable energy and relationships with customers in the utility scale market.
- Background working with technically complex or analytical service offerings, particularly in advisory or consulting environments
- Exposure to transaction stakeholders such as insurers, capital providers, or asset owners involved in energy or infrastructure investments
- Experience navigating multi-party sales environments that require coordination across technical, financial, and commercial teams
- Solid understanding of solar project lifecycles, including performance drivers and risk factors tied to environmental conditions
- Ability to translate detailed technical outputs into clear business implications for a range of audiences
- Experience operating within extended, consultative sales cycles involving high-value opportunities
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical contributors and senior business stakeholders
Salary Range: $125,000 – 150,000 + Bonus
