The Director of Business Development will lead efforts to identify and secure new business opportunities, focusing on increasing the company’s presence on Approved and Preferred Vendor Lists within the renewable energy sector. Collaborating with senior leadership, this role will drive strategic partnerships, build relationships with key decision-makers, and negotiate contracts. The position is ideal for a driven professional with a strong background in business development and a passion for renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strengthen the company’s position on Approved and Preferred Vendor Lists by fostering relationships with key decision-makers.
- Build and maintain partnerships with solar project owners and developers to secure new projects and enhance collaboration.
- Monitor and analyze industry trends, providing market feedback to the sales team and leadership to inform competitive strategies.
- Educate stakeholders on the company’s bankability and unique value propositions.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer needs, offering tailored solutions to address challenges and expectations.
- Stay informed on changes in legislation and policies affecting the solar and renewable energy sectors.
- Advocate for product development initiatives to align with emerging market demands.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in business development, preferably in the utility PV solar space.
- 3+ years of experience in the solar industry.
- Existing relationships with developers, utilities, and other key industry players are highly desirable.
- Proven ability to align sales strategies with organizational goals and drive revenue growth.
- Strong understanding of the renewable energy market, including regulatory and policy trends.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with a history of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- High level of integrity, strategic thinking, and urgency in driving business results.
Salary Range: $140,000–$160,000 + Bonus
